My interdisciplinary work discusses the relationship between the self and place inspired by my childhood memories of growing up in a matriarchal and traditional family. Within the edges of my paintings or the walls of my installations, I peel back the dirty wallpapers of the home and reveal the secrets that are hiding in the shadows of suburbia. Each piece acts as a moment of thought-provoking imagery that depicts the strength and beauty of the subject as it relates to their circumstance.
